Went for the cocido today...man this soup is MEATY! No need to wonder where's the deef....its here!!! Delish. No extra filler. Comes with rice and choice of tortilla. Will come back for their breakfast burritos and maybe even to try out the rest of their menu. Fast service too NOTE: BREAKFAST IS SERVED FROM 8 TO 11 ONLY.
Finally we have a chance to dine here again after the renovation. Much nicer now with more space. The food is as delicious as always. Caldo de Pollo is still our favorite. Nice, friendly, and fast service. Bit tight parking space.
Very possibly the best Cabeza tacos in Tucson along with fabulous Cocido, excellent Chilaquiles and well, it's just all really good. Clean, quick and delicious. Just go.
The food is terrific especially their cabeza. This is one of the few establishments to remove the substantial fat from the cheek meat after cooking. Prices are quite reasonable, although the taco sizes are relatively small too. Their Taco Plate includes 2 tacos (your choice of meat) plus rice/beans for $7. Ala carte tacos are $2.75 each and come with onions and cilantro on small (5 in) corn tortillas. There are about 25 tables - half are 2-seaters and the rest are 4-tops. You order at the counter and you bus your own table so keep that in mind when the "tablet spin" takes place. Bonus: no credit card fee! The only gripe about this place is that word's gotten out, Lol. 11:30am on a Thursday there was a line of 8-9 people already. It took about 12 min to reach the cashier and about 18 min before my number was called to pickup my entree. If you sit far away (the back section) you'll likely Not hear them announce. Just Fyi. Traditional glass bottled sodas are available. Parking can be tight despite there being about 15 spots in their personal lot. There's just a single bathroom but also a separate handwashing station (which was all out of soap). Would I return? Heck yes... the al pastor (marinated pork) taco was good but the cabeza was sensational. Looking fwd to trying there other meats.
Had some time to waste and decided to try this place since it had such great reviews. We ordered the taco plate with carne asada. The plate came with rice and beans. We also decided to try the tamarindo drink. No disappointment here. The service was excellent. Our order came out quickly. The tortillas and meat were absolutely delicious! They serve both breakfast and lunch and have vegetarian options. Next time I think I'll try some caldo. It's the perfect season for caldo. The interior is painted with beautiful bright flowers and bold colors.
Our last meal in Tucson before we head to our next stop in our road trip, saw locals say this is a great place so we decided to give it a try! We got two all meat burrito, one with steak one with cabeza, also got a cabeza taco and a cheese quesadilla on the side! Wow what can I say, it's so freaking delicious, the steak burrito is to die for there is just so much meat packed in there, everything was juicy and delicious. I am so sad that I will leave this city soon and I won't be able to eat here again anytime soon. The staff are also very very friendly, the place is super spacious and clean.
I love it here! It's a Tucson staple for sure. It's been here as long as I can remember. I will drive across town for this mix carne asada burro! A must try! Family owned business. Beautiful artwork on the walls. Servers are nice. Speedy when you call for takeout too!
Brought the family to Juanito's for breakfast on Sunday. I was very tempted by the menudo, but we ended up ordering three breakfast burritos (carne asada, el pastor and beef cheek) as well as a chicken plate. The food was delicious, as usual. All the meats were well seasoned and we all left very satisfied. One of my favorite breakfast burrito spots. Their red and green salsas are so tasty and adding bits of pickled jalapeno brought the burrito to a whole new level!!!
Have to say I haven't been to this place in a years but stopped in recently after visiting my fathers grave and the food was fabulous. Chairs were a bit hard on my old gluteus maximus but food was good!
